SignatureFit™ · Photography studio
A photography studio in your own garden.
Clear shooting space, ceiling-mounted lighting, a proper backdrop wall and full control of daylight. A bespoke studio for portraits, products and content, designed and built by Oaklight.
Why a garden studio
Control the light, control the shot
A good studio is about control: of light, of space and of sound. Hiring a studio by the hour adds up quickly, and spare rooms rarely have the height or width you need.
With SignatureFit™ we design a studio around how you shoot. That means a clear floor, a backdrop wall, ceiling rigging for lights, plenty of power, blackout when you need it and a space to edit.

Designed around your work
The details that make it work
Every SignatureFit™ studio is planned from scratch. These are the details we most often design in.
Clear shooting space
A layout planned around your focal lengths, with as much clear floor as possible.
Ceiling-mounted lighting
Track, rails or rigging points so lights are off the floor and quick to move.
Blackout & daylight control
Blackout blinds and placed glazing, so you choose when daylight joins the shot.
Plenty of power
Dedicated circuits and sockets for strobes, LEDs, charging and editing kit.
Acoustic treatment
Panels and insulation to cut echo for video, podcasts and voiceover.
Comfort for clients
Insulated, heated and ventilated, so newborn and portrait clients stay comfortable.
Made for the way you work
Designed in detail

A clean, flexible shooting space
White walls, a backdrop wall and a clear floor make it easy to set up, shoot and reset between clients.
- Backdrop wall and paper rolls
- Clear floor and wide doors for kit
- Neutral, reflective finishes

Light exactly where you want it
Ceiling rigging keeps stands off the floor, and blackout gives you total control over ambient light.
- Ceiling track or rigging points
- Blackout blinds on glazing
- Dimmable ambient lighting

Sound and video, sorted
Acoustic panels and good insulation cut echo, so the studio works just as well for video, reels and podcasts.
- Acoustic wall and ceiling panels
- Quiet heating and ventilation
- Data points for streaming

Photography studio questions
Can’t see your question? Call or WhatsApp 07742 751703.
All FAQsHow big does a garden photography studio need to be?
It depends on what you shoot. Product and headshot work can fit a 4 × 3m room, while full-length portraits and groups need more depth. We talk through your lenses and setups and recommend a size at the survey.
Can you add blackout and ceiling rigging for lights?
Yes. Blackout blinds, ceiling tracks and rigging points are typical SignatureFit™ details, planned into the structure so they are safe and neat.
Can clients visit for shoots?
Many photographers do run client shoots from home. If clients will visit regularly, tell us at the start so we can talk through what usually applies and plan private access.
How much does a photography studio garden room cost?
Rooms start from £13,500 + VAT for a 3 × 3m CoreBuild™. The SignatureFit™ fit-out is quoted individually after a free site survey, as one fixed, itemised price.
