How Long Does It Take to Build a Garden Room?
- Oaklight Garden Rooms
- West Midlands
Most Oaklight garden rooms are complete within 4-6 weeks from the start of on-site construction, though the full journey from first enquiry to move-in typically spans 8-12 weeks once design and scheduling are included.
The full timeline, stage by stage
- Enquiry & quick call: 1-2 days for an initial response and rough sizing
- Site visit & fixed quote: usually within a week of your enquiry
- Design confirmation: 1-2 weeks, depending on how many revisions you want
- Build & installation: 4-6 weeks on-site, depending on size and specification
- Handover: a walkthrough on completion day, with everything ready to use
What affects build time
Larger rooms and full SignatureFit interiors take longer than a bare CoreBuild shell. Ground conditions — a sloped garden or poor access — can extend groundworks time. Winter builds can also see minor weather-related delays compared to summer.
Why we give a fixed timeline, not a guess
Because we run the survey and design phases before construction starts, we’re able to give you a real date for completion rather than an open-ended estimate — something that’s surprisingly rare in this industry.
