Electrics, Plumbing & Utilities in a Garden Room
- Oaklight Garden Rooms
- West Midlands
Getting power (and sometimes water) safely and reliably out to your garden room is one of the most technical parts of the build — and one you shouldn’t leave to guesswork.
Electrics
Every CoreBuild includes a dedicated electrical supply run from your main consumer unit, installed by a certified electrician to full Part P compliance. Standard specification covers sockets and lighting sized to the room’s use; additional circuits, data cabling, or higher-load sockets (for gym or salon equipment, for example) can be specified upfront through SignatureFit.
Data and connectivity
Wifi alone often struggles at the end of a garden, especially through brick walls or over longer distances. Running ethernet cabling alongside your electrical supply — while the ground’s already open — is far cheaper than adding it later.
Plumbing
Not every garden room needs plumbing, but for beauty treatment rooms, garden bars, or annexes, running water and drainage is possible. It’s more involved than electrics-only and may bring building regulations into scope, so we flag this clearly at the design stage rather than as a surprise.
Consumer unit capacity
Before adding a garden room’s electrical load, we check that your existing consumer unit and supply have the spare capacity to take it — an easy thing to overlook until you’re mid-project.
See our full specification on the CoreBuild page, or get in touch to talk through the utilities your project needs.
